Industrialists, Pioneers in Business
Many Jewish industrialists and businessmen
played an important role in Poland's development, and helped provide the
foundations for modern business. Thanks to their efforts and
innovations, entire industrial centers arose, such as those in Lodz and
Bialystok. It was in part thanks to their investments that the Poland
was able to recover economically after the First World War.

Thanks to fortunes amassed in the first
phase of modern industry and capitalism, many of these Jewish
businessmen also supported charitable, cultural, sports and educational
activities, both in the Polish and Jewish communities. The National
Philharmonic in Warsaw was founded thanks to such initiatives:
approximately half of the funds were contributions from wealthy Jewish
investors and capitalists.
